A 33-year-old sex worker, Katina K., disappeared in Germany. She worked as a prostitute and was last seen on August 1st in Eggolsheim, Bavaria. Her sudden disappearance has raised concerns that she may have fallen victim to a crime.
She worked in many brothels in Germany
Katina K. worked in various brothels across Germany, including the Hamburg districts of Wandsbek and Lurup. She occasionally also visited clients in their homes. On August 1st, her trail went cold in Eggolsheim, where she had been staying temporarily as part of her work.
After her relatives in Hamburg reported her missing, the criminal police in Bamberg assumed responsibility for the investigation. A 73-year-old local resident, Joseph H., who has a previous criminal record for serious offenses, quickly became a person of interest. Witnesses reported that Katina K. was last seen in his company.
The Bamberg police have since released photographs of both the missing woman and the suspect. Joseph H. is currently in custody, but he has not provided any statements regarding the allegations.
A special commission, codenamed “Sofia,” has been established to handle the case. The commission is currently processing over 100 leads, but despite extensive search efforts, no concrete results have been achieved so far.
In connection with the investigation, the Bavarian police are also reviewing the case of a missing 32-year-old woman who disappeared from the same region in 1994 after attending a party. Joseph H. was reportedly under investigation at the time, but no charges were brought against him.
